You Are Not a Model!
I see them everyday, like roaches in a dingy studio apartment, like ants on discarded food, like a swarm of sting-happy bees when you're after their honey. No this is not something that you would see on the nature channel (even though it should be), but it's something 100 times worse: Wanna-bes!

Yes! Those men and women who wonder aimlessly about spouting off every chance they get to tell people that they are a model. The arrogance, the ego. Working models bust their butts everyday for the privilege to be called a professional model. Then there are the perpetrators who claim to be models. It turns my stomach inside out every time I hear one of them lie about who they are, really! Where do they get the nerve?

I see and hear this nonsense quite being that I am a model coach of 10 years, so I know the crap that's out there. "Yeah, I'm a model" or "I just did a show last week" or "I wanna be in videos where they make the real money". Ha! Let's get this straight...

YOU ARE NOT A MODEL!

So let's get this straight and out into the open right now! First off, you are NOT a model if no one has put a check in your hand for doing their show or wearing their clothes. Second, just because you may have walked down a runway, does not make you a professional, or even a model period. Third, if you've been in a video, you are NOT a model. You are what is referred to as a video girl! You are a prop in the video, you are not modeling clothing for the purpose of showing them off for sale! Got it? Good, but I'm not finished yet.

Models are industry professionals who take time and pride in their appearance everyday, are backed by great agencies, are paid for their services, and are looked up to by those wanting to achieve what they have achieved. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be a model, I did not say that. I am only focusing this article toward those men and women wanna-bes who already claim to be models, but who are a disgrace to the industry as a whole.
Remember:

1. If no one has put a check in your hand for your work, you are NOT a model!

2. If you haven't done a paying runway show, you are NOT a model!

3. If you don't have an agency or actively finding jobs on your own, you are NOT a model!

4. If all you can get is music videos, you are NOT a model!

5. And if you say you are a model all the time, we know that you are definitely NOT a model!

Sorry if I offended anyone, but you have got to learn somehow!
